Avery & Jessie | Christmas Tree Farm Engagement Portraits
Avery is a highway patrol officer and Jessie is a second grade teacher.
The two of them first met through a mutual friend (Ashley), and have known each other for a really long time. They went to the same high school and even went to homecoming together when Avery played rec football and Jessie cheered.
We had the best time getting to know them during their engagement shoot! We CAN’T WAIT for their wedding in June! Keep scrolling to read more about their story + see our favorites from their Christmas Tree Farm engagement session!
Who said I love you first?
Avery did, but of course I said it back to him!
What did you do on your first date?
So dating during a pandemic kind of limits first date options LOL. Avery came and picked me up and we went to Anderson. He knew Target was my favorite store so we went and shopped for a little bit. We went to Chickfila because that’s my favorite place to eat, and of course we had to get it in the drive through. We took our food and went and parked and ate, and just talked for a while and then he took me back home.
Favorite thing to do together...
We enjoy going different places and traveling. Avery cooks a lot so we enjoy doing that together as well! Even though he does most of the work 😉
favorite physical attribute
My favorite attribute about Avery is his height and his smile.
My favorite attribute about Jessie is her big brown eyes.
favorite character trait
Avery is a true gentleman and has a big heart. He is always sweet to me and keeps me laughing.
Jessie has the happiest and most positive attitude. She is always in a happy and joyful mood.
Where do you see yourselves in 10 years?
Hopefully we will have started a family and have a few more dogs 😊
Proposal story
We had decided to visit Chattooga Belle to pick apples with our friends and take some pictures. Avery was in a golf tournament, so I rode with Ashley and Bethany to Chattooga Belle, and he met us up there with Michael. When we got there we walked around looking for the apples, but unfortunately we decided to go a little late in apple season and pretty much all the apples were gone. Avery and Michael showed up, and Avery didn’t say a word to me (which worried me a little bit because he’s usually always got something to say).
We walked around looking for more apples, and all of a sudden an apple hit me in the side of the head, which hurt pretty bad! Avery had chunked an apple at me, aiming for my feet and had clearly missed...then he disappeared! At that point I was ready to go home because it had started raining and the gnats were really bad.
We all started walking back up towards the top near the building to get ready to go home. We got to the top and were taking pictures of the babies when I noticed Avery off by himself, so I walked over to him and was trying to tell him about my day, and that’s when he grabbed my hand and asked if I loved him. After that, it’s all a blur. It was the best surprise because I had no idea it was coming!
