How long was your engagement?

Our engagement was a year and 3 months!

Where did you get married?

We got married at the beautiful Huitt Farms Venue in Anderson, SC!

Tell us about the moment you seen each other for the first time on your wedding day.

Josh— “I couldn’t wait to see Hannah walk down the aisle. As soon as I saw her, everybody else seemed to disappear. I thought, ‘WOW, she’s perfect!’”.

Hannah—“I was so nervous right before those doors opened for my Dad and I to walk out! I couldn’t wait to finally see Josh in his tux! He was so handsome and I was so happy to FINALLY be at that moment… with him and minutes away from saying I Do!!”

Hannah, Describe your husband on your wedding day.

“He was so handsome in his blue tux, and his smile melted my heart once I saw him! He calmed my nerves so well as we were saying our vows, and was so much fun throughout the night- talking to everybody and dancing the night away with our friends and family!”

Josh, Describe your wife on your wedding day.

“I remember her walking down the aisle and all the excitement I had. I felt the moment was perfect. Everything from the way she looked- to her dress. I couldn’t stop looking at her throughout the night as she had what I felt was the best night.”

Were there any rituals, traditions, or sentiments that were part of your wedding? If so, can you tell us about them?

We kinda threw all traditions out the window for the most part! We wanted it to feel more like a big party and more laid back than a typical wedding! We also included our love for game nights into the wedding! We had lawn games and little games set up inside- along with trivia on every table, and our guest book was made of Jenga pieces! A couple sentiments we included were having Hannah’s uncle as our officiant, and having a honorary best man. One of Josh’s best friend’s passed away a few years ago, and we wanted to make sure he was included. Jake, our honorary best man, was also included in the gift I gave Josh the day of the wedding. I had a painting done of Josh and Jake standing together in the tuxedos that the groomsmen were wearing that day! I wanted to make sure Josh knew that Jake was there with us!! Josh also said vows to McKinley and had a special dance with her as well!

What were the top 5 moments of your wedding day?

Seeing Each other for the first time. Fake first look with the Groomsman dressed in a wedding dress. First look with McKinley. The food! Celebrating with our family and friends.

Were there any moments that made you cry?

Josh— “I teared up during my first look with McKinley. It was a special moment.”

Hannah— “Absolutely! I wear my heart on my sleeve so I cried (happy tears only, obviously) a lot that day! I cried during my vows and while listening to Josh’s vows to me and McKinley! I also cried during the first look with my Grandmother and Aunt and brother!”

Most weddings never go quite as planned. Was there a blooper or “oops” moment at your wedding?

Josh had a necklace he purchased for McKinley that I was supposed to place around her neck during his vows to her, but we forgot to give it to the officiant, so we gave it to her later. I also forgot to bustle my dress during our first dance, so it was a little difficult to dance! Also, somebody cut our cake that we were supposed to use for our cake cutting!!

Is there a story to the song you picked for your first dance?

Not really a story- we heard it and it fits us so perfectly!

What was your best memory from your wedding day?

Josh— “Seeing the excitement on Hannah’s face and how much McKinley enjoyed the night as well.

Hannah— “Finally getting to the end of the aisle and holding hands with Josh, and he told me how beautiful I looked and calmed my nerves! It felt like the world faded away and it was just us!”
