Sean + Ashley | The Ridge at Summit Farms

How long was your engagement?

About a year and one month

Where did you get married?

The Ridge at Summit Farms in Westminster

Tell us about the moment you seen each other for the first time on your wedding day (either your first look or when walking down the aisle).

Ashley - seeing Sean for our first look I was just so excited to see him and hug him and be with him. I hadn't seen him since the day before and it felt like a lifetime. And I know once I saw him that it would be just us.

Sean - it felt like forever for Ashley to just get to me for the first look. I was excited to hug her and to get body heat because it was so cold.

(Bride) Describe your husband on your wedding day.

My husband was FUN. He honestly just seemed care free and truly enjoyed being with me and our closest friends and family. I felt his love and comfort throughout the entire day / night. I felt the strength he brought to the start of our marriage on that day.

He was there for a good time and he definitely had a good time!

(Groom) Describe your wife on your wedding day.

My wife was care free and she had a really great time with all of her girls that she doesn't get to see often.

Were there any rituals, traditions, or sentiments that were part of your wedding? If so, can you tell us about them?

1. It was really important to us to have a moment of communion of just us during our ceremony. I have said it before that we try to be very intentional with each other and to have that small moment in our ceremony just goes to show that.

2. We found a small amount of time to sneak away at the reception after dinner to just be alone just us to take in the night so far.

What were the top 5 moments of your wedding day?

1. For Ashley it was getting to spend the day partying with her bridesmaids.

2. For Ashley, holding and singing Frozen with the Flower girl before she walked down the aisle. For Sean to watch his niece walk down the aisle singing her favorite Frozen song.

3. Getting to chat and connect very quickly with all of our guests at our wedding, going around the tables at dinner time.

4. Dancing on the dance floor with our bridesmaids and groomsmen

5. After the wedding was all said and done and we were back at the house we finally got to truly eat dinner from the night and it was AMAZING.

Were there any moments that made you cry?

Having my first look with my dad(s). When I read my letter to my dad, it choked me up telling him I will always be his little girl. And then Johnny's reaction to me in my dress and hugging me. It's like he knew I needed that. How special to have married into a family who loves you like their own.

Most weddings never go quite as planned. Was there a blooper or “oops” moment at your wedding?

There were some music issues at the beginning of the ceremony and when we walked back down the aisle after being married, but Sean and I were so overwhelmed with joy that we didn't even notice it either!

Is there a story to the song you picked for your first dance?

Sean was working a side job one weekend and the song Sweet Symphony came on the radio and he stopped to listen to it. Then on the way home from his side job, Sean had called Ashley to tell her he was on the way home and immediately after he was reminded of that song and instantly knew it would be our first dance song. He said our first dance song made him emotional listening to it and knew it was the one for us.

What was your best memory from your wedding day?

Ashley - everything. I truly remember every moment from that day and I am so thankful that I have such a sweet memory of the entire day with all my friends and family, and of course my husband.

Sean - the care free joy that we (my wife and I) throughout the day

Describe newlywed life in three words.
