Happy Earth Day & Second Wedding Anniversary to my other half!
Woah has the time sure flown. I can't believe it's already been two years! In some ways I can't hardly imagine a time when we weren't married and in other ways I still can't believe that it's already been two whole years of marriage. Over the past two years we have grown so much, not just as a couple but as individuals.
Marriage. What is marriage? From day one, Steven and I, have both viewed marriage as an example of how Christ loved the church. We want our marriage to be just that, a testimony of Christ. Now, is that the perfect description of our marriage? Probably not, but we are always striving to grow together and work on our marriage, to make it just that. I feel like that is what is most important!
The past two years have been a blast! We have gone on some crazy adventures together and have some of the best memories (some I'd like to forget, such as tick removal from your spouses hind end two weeks into marriage). It's not always pretty and definitely not always easy. We have had some all out throw downs but we always find our way back. We have definitely learned that life is too short to sweat the little things - pick your battles and get over the silly ones.
I asked Steven the other night what his favorite part of marriage was and he simply stated, "Having a friend who will love me no matter what." That pretty much sums up marriage right there. Sometimes this comes easily and other days you have to choose to love. At the end of the day just knowing that there is that one person out there who loves you endlessly and will take you for who you are is so rewarding.
Reflecting on myself and trying to decide what I enjoy most about marriage, I would say that simply doing life together, whether it be a simple everyday task or some crazy new adventure - from grocery shopping to experiencing new things for the first time. It's the best part of my day getting to do it along side my best friend! There is nothing like having that one person that you know you can depend on no matter what.
Steven, on our wedding day I told you that I have never felt more loved than I have in my entire life and I still feel that way today. Thank you for loving me so effortlessly and fearlessly over these past two years. Thank you for forgiving me when I fault, and for being so quick to ask for forgiveness. Thank you for always having my back no matter what. You are so humble and kind, and I can't imagine doing life without you. Thank you for the best two years of my life! I can't wait to see what's next. I love you to the mountains and back Steven Paul (not the blue ridge mountains because those aren't very far)!
