proposal story
“We dressed all fancy and got Chinese takeout and headed to the boardwalk where we had our first date. Samuel was gone all summer and this was our first date since he came back. I figured it would happen sometime soon but didn’t think he’d actually ask so soon after he came back. He’d been talking about this date all week, so I though maybe he’d ask that night but didn’t want to get my hopes up. We picked up our takeout and headed to Clemson. Samuel’s phone was connected to his car screen and a message from Abbe popped up on the screen. (A little side note, Abbe has always said she’d take our pictures) so I freaked out and tried to pretend like I didn’t see the message. Apparently I didn’t do a good job because Samuel said I quickly turned my head. We got there and laid our blankets out and ate our food. Samuel does so good with not being on his phone on our dates but that night he kept checking it and I found out later it was because Abbe couldn’t find where we were at. The sun started to set and so Sam tried to get me to stand up so he could kneel down. I turned around and saw Abbe hiding behind some bushes and wasn’t quite sure what to do. Finally I stood up and He got down and asked. I was so excited that I forgot to say yes, so on the ride home I finally answered the question:)”
