Luke and Bailey have known each other for almost three years! Bailey is currently a nanny while she finishes up her master’s, but is a teacher at heart! She is excited to be back in the class room with kindergarten or first and second graders next year! Luke is finishing up his last semester and Anderson University. In May he’ll graduate with degrees in both Supply Chain and Marketing, then he’ll start a position with Pepsi Co in High Point North Carolina a few weeks after they are married. They’ve already been apartment hunting and can’t wait to start their new lives together as Mr & Mrs Hahn in July!!

How they met

Bailey: “He was friends with my roommate and wound up coming over to my apartment for a movie night, so we officially met then! That night after Luke left I started asking questions about the cute and loud redhead from Columbia. My roommate started inviting me every time she was planning to hang with him, and our relationship grew from there.”

Who said I love you first?

Bailey: “Me, but apparently he was about to do so in the same moment and so he's still upset that he wasn't first haha.”

What did you do on your first date?

Bailey: “We aren't really sure when our first date was! I say it's one thing and he would say another! Basically I was scared to say we were dating because I wanted to take it slow but we were technically dating before we called it such. He would say our first date was when we met downtown Columbia and went to Cantina, and I would say it was the night we had dinner at California Dreaming and then got cheesecake at Cheesecake Factory haha. All we know is we started going on dates in Columbia during Christmas break in 2019!

Favorite thing to do together

We love to ride around in the car and listen to country music or sometimes pop if we're in the mood to dance lol.

Bailey: “I love his thick red hair and the way his eyes disappear when he smiles really big.”

Luke: “Her smile is my favorite.”

favorite character trait

Bailey: “His ability to engage everyone around him in conversation and make them feel loved and welcomed regardless of how long he's known them.”

Luke: “Her goofy side and her heart for others.”

Where do you see yourselves in 10 years?

With a house of our own, a dog, and 2 or 3 kids!

proposal story

Bailey: “We went out to eat in downtown Anderson and then started walking after. As we were walking I kept stopping to look at all of the gloves, hats, and scarves people had set out for the homeless, so he couldn't get me to the spot in front of the Christmas tree where he was wanting to get down on one knee. He finally got me over there by lying and telling me to go see all the other gloves by the tree haha. Once I moved to where he wanted me, he got down on one knee and of course I said yes!”
