Jacquelynn and Preston | Wedding Day Celebration| Lakefront Occasions, Westminster SC
Jacquelynn and Preston have quite the story and we had the best time being a part of it! They reminded us that every couple is unique and their story is unique, and when it comes to marriage and weddings, there are no rules - do what fits you! Keep scrolling to read their story plus see our favorites from their wedding day!
How long was your engagement?
One month!
Where did you get married?
Haha, which time? We signed our marriage license in San Diego, September 5, 2020. Preston had to go on operation right after we signed the papers, so with it being very last minute and far away, our family and friends were unable to attend. We planned a second wedding day, dedicated to celebration- one day in this entire life that we were able to celebrate each other and our love with everyone that shaped us into who we are.
Tell us about the moment you seen each other for the first time on your wedding day.
Preston: "Wow, she's hot. Speaking of hot, it’s super hot out here and my suit is tight. But dang, she's sexy. I’m not even mad about the cost of the dress anymore.”
Jac: His reaction was everything I imagined it to be, so precious- but also with some hilarious comments sprinkled on top.
Jacquelynn, Describe your husband on your wedding day.
He was (& is) incredibly handsome, so so sweet, and hilarious as usual.
Preston, describe your wife on your wedding day.
Beautiful, and a nervous mess.
Were there any rituals, traditions, or sentiments that were part of your wedding? If so, can you tell us about them?
My mother, Katrina Flagg, married my dad, Joseph Flagg, at his parent’s house, so we carried on the tradition by having our wedding at Preston’s parents house! Preston also broke a glass during the ceremony, just like his father did when he got married to Irina.
What were the top 5 moments of your wedding day?
1. The ceremony was hilarious. Thanks Preston and his groomsmen for all of the laughs!
2. When my aunt, Bethany Pipkin, put the necklace she made out of my great great-grandmother’s pearls around my neck.
3. My father, Joseph Flagg, walked me down the aisle, but instead of holding my hand, we interlocked our pinkies (it’s our little thing).
4. Dancing with one of the children my parents fostered!
5. The cake!! The food!! It was so tasty!
Were there any moments that made you cry?
I definitely teared up when my father spoke during the ceremony, but thankfully no actual crying.
Most weddings never go quite as planned. Was there a blooper or “oops” moment at your wedding?
Jac- “I was late to pretty much everything, but that’s nothing new haha.”
Is there a story to the song you picked for your first dance?
When Preston and I went on our first date, we were sitting in his jeep listening to music. The song, Never Knock, by Levin Garrett played, and that was when we kissed for the first time. It just became “our” song.
What was your best memory from your wedding day?
When we had our 10 minute break inside the cabin! We realized we still had our mics on, and were saying a bunch of random and funny things. We hope it gets added to the wedding video, haha!
Describe newlywed life in three words.
Fun, Stressful, Adventurous.
