Brian & Laura | Greenville Wedding Weekend

How long was your engagement?

11 months

Where did you get married?

Rock Quarry Garden

Tell us about the moment you seen each other for the first time on your wedding day

Brian— “I couldn’t believe how beautiful Laura looked and how perfect her dress was. I was very excited that we were about to be married.”

Laura— “Walking down the aisle was fun. I had thought about that moment a lot in planning the wedding and seeing Brian at the end in his suit was the cherry on top.”

Laura, describe your husband on your wedding day

Brian had so much joy the whole day. You could tell he was excited and happy that we were getting married. His outfit details were on point too. He looked so handsome.

Brian, describe your wife on your wedding day.

Laura was beautiful and glowing. She was smiling all day and joyful. She also seemed really relaxed and was enjoying the day.

Were there any rituals, traditions, or sentiments that were part of your wedding? If so, can you tell us about them?

We wrote and shared our own vows. We got married on Laura’s parents’ 50th anniversary, so we included a bell cake topper just like they had on their wedding day.

Laura also had something old (her grandmothers ring), new (white and gold Nikes), borrowed (her Dads handkerchief), and blue (socks).

Our reception was at our weekly Sunday spot, YeeHaw Brewing.

We also included a nod to New Orleans's second line in our processional and reception exit with parasols, handkerchiefs, and beads.

What were the top 5 moments of your wedding day?

Seeing each other for the first time.

Having quality time with guests and family throughout the weekend.

Pedicab ride down Mainstreet in our wedding attire.

Seeing our guests enjoy and love YeeHaw as much as we do.

Capturing memories in different ways (photos, voice notes, signatures) for us to enjoy for many years to come.

Were there any moments that made you cry?

Brian— “When I first saw Laura, reading my vows, and my brother’s Best Man toast.”

Laura— “Hearing kind and loving sentiments from my family before hair and makeup. Walking down the aisle. Reading my vows.”

Most weddings never go quite as planned. Was there a blooper or “oops” moment at your wedding?

Honestly, our day was perfect.

If there was an oops moment, it was handled quietly behind the scenes by our family and friends.

Is there a story to the song you picked for your first dance?

We wanted a song that was upbeat and timeless, so we picked, Fly Me To The Moon, by Frank Sinatra.

What was your best memory from your wedding day?

Brian— “Seeing Laura walk down the aisle.”

Laura— “Our first kiss as husband and wife!”

Describe newlywed life in three words.

Married life has flowed easily and organically for us. The most challenging part has been remembering and saying our new husband/wife titles.
