Tell us a little about yourselves as individuals: What is your careers/professions?
Brian is a Senior Cost & Pricing Analyst and works in project controls for large scale construction and
O&M projects. Laura is a Player Engagement Management and works in video games improving game
experiences for players.
How long have you known each other?
We have known each other for 2 years.
What was life like before you met compared to now?
We both enjoyed spending time on various hobbies in singlehood. Brian played golf, ate out at
restaurants, and played video games - and Laura read, puzzled, and ran races more than we do now.
Our time has shifted a bit where we spend it more on joint activities like going to baseball games,
musicals, and travel.
How did you meet? And what was your first impressions of each other?
We met on Bumble and had our first date at Up on The Roof. Brian's first impression of Laura was
very intelligent and funny. Laura's first impression of Brian was he was tall and talkative.
When you first met, what attracted you most?
Brian was most attracted to Laura's laugh. And Laura was most attracted to Brian's very inviting
personality.

What did you do on your first date?
Our first date was very casual. We ate nachos and had a few drinks.
Favorite thing you like to do together...
Brian's favorite things is traveling, running races, and going to baseball games.
Laura's favorite things is going to musicals, date nights, and snuggling on the couch with a TV show.

What has been the biggest challenge you've faced as a couple? And how did you overcome that
challenge?
Planning a wedding has been a tough challenge. Through the process we have learned more about
one another and how to continue to move forward even when things are hard. We are more willing to
overcome the challenge because we both want to reach the common goal of marriage.
How has your fiancé changed you?
Brian: Cooks a lot more and eats out less. Is a bit more compassionate and empathetic.
Laura: Less selfish and more aware of other's feelings.
Where do you see yourselves in 10 years?
Homeowners with a family.
What’s your proposal story? (Where did you go? What was said? How did you feel after you said "I
do!"?
While Laura was in Peru, Brian went to Aiken to talk to Laura's parents and get an heirloom ring that
Laura wanted. He then reserved dinner at Between the Trees and invited Laura out for a date night.
On the way to dinner, we stopped at Falls Park for a picture and Brian got down on one knee and
proposed. Laura said yes and we went to dinner and celebrated. At dinner we called family and
friends and shared the good news.
