Tell us about the moment you seen each other for the first time on your wedding day
Emma: "The first time I saw Colby on our wedding day when I was walking down the aisle, he just shook his head and he couldn't stop smiling. When I got to him I noticed some tears in his eyes. Not to call anyone out, but I think two of the groomsmen were crying too lol.
Colby: "I just couldn't believe my eyes. It was the most exiting moment of my life and all I could think about was how blessed I am."
Emma, Describe your husband on your wedding day.
He was the happiest I had ever seen him and boy did he clean up good!
Colby, Describe your wife on your wedding day.
I couldn't believe I got to marry someone so perfect.
Were there any rituals, traditions, or sentiments that were part of your wedding?
We did the Cord of Three Strands Unity Ceremony. In braiding these three strands together, it shows that we have demonstrated that our marriage is more than a joining of two lives together. It is a unity with God as well. It means God is the center of our marriage and is woven into every aspect of our lives together.
What were the top 5 moments of your wedding day?
1. Being pronounced husband and wife
2. Our first touch with our letters and gifts
3. Seeing each other for the first time walking down the aisle
4. Our first dance, and dancing with our friends and family
5. Being surrounded by all the people we love
Were there any moments that made you cry?
Emma: "I cried like a baby the whole day, lol. A few of my friends wrote me letters that I cried over. I cried seeing my daddy at our first look, and when I read him the letter I wrote him. I cried at mine and Colby's first touch and reading his letter to him, him reading his letter to me, and opening my gift from him. I also cried during mine and my daddy’s first dance. There were so many overwhelming emotions that day, but I loved every moment."
Colby: "When I saw Emma for the first time, and when she read her letter to me."
Was there a blooper or “oops” moment at your wedding?
There were a few, but everything still was perfect. I forgot my earrings, but my mother brought back-ups and they were just as beautiful. Also, my dad had been working so hard to have his old Cheyenne '72 as our driveaway truck. After two months of working on it, he got it running good. The truck broke down on Colby and Shane on the way to the venue, so we ended up driving Colby's truck home which was fine!
Is there a story to the song you picked for your first dance?
Emma: "I let Colby win this battle. I wanted to dance to the Jason Aldean's version of "Heaven" by Bryan Adams. Colby wanted to dance to "Strawberries" by Caamp. My wonderful SIL (Hayley) knew how badly I wanted to dance to "Heaven" and later that night she requested the song to the DJ. He played the song and Colby and I danced to it as well. Needless to say, we got the best of both worlds thanks to Hayley.
Colby: "Emma's dad showed me the song, and I loved the band. The song reminded me of Emma and our relationship so well so it was just the perfect fit."
What was your best memory from your wedding day?
Emma: "My best memory from the wedding day was our first touch. Colby and I read our letters to each other and gave each other our gifts. My gift was so special that Colby got me. He got me a bible with my new name on it and it brought me to tears."
Colby: "Seeing my wife walk down that aisle in that dress."
