Kacie + Aaron | Engagement Session | Clemson, SC

We had THE best time getting to know Kaci and Aaron at their engagement session! These two were totally out-of-the-box with their vision and ideas for their session and we loved every minute of it!

Kacie and Aaron met at Lowes where they were both sales people (Hint, their first location for their session). Aaron is now the Assistant Store Manager at Tractor Supply and Kacie is starting a new position at Beyond Blueprint as a Designer.

How long have you known each other?

Kacie— “We met originally when I was 16 and he was 14. He was my friend’s little brother’s annoying friend and I was the "hot red head" across the hall. We reconnected YEARS later, 11 to be exact. We reconnected at Lowe's when I started working there in 2018.”

What was life like before you met compared to now?

Kacie— “Life has meaning, joy, and purpose. I felt like I was just wandering until I met Aaron. He is the exception, certainly not the rule. And, he hasn't said so, but I am pretty sure that feeling is 110% mutual.”

How did you meet? And what was your first impressions of each other?

Kacie— “Refer to question 2, HAHA!. But I will elaborate to say, the first second I saw him in 2018, I knew. I didn't know what I knew or how I knew it...and it took some time to work it out, but it was always there. Smacked me right in the face.”

When you first met, what attracted you most?

Kacie— “This is going to sound weird, but for me, it was his work ethic - watching him sweep up grout did something permanently to my soul, can't lie; his mouth - can't explain that one, I just love the way his lips are shaped and how they attach to the rest of his face...yeah I am a little psycho there.”

Aaron— “Her bright, bubbly personality, and her loud, earth shaking laugh.”

Who said I love you first

Him. and I will never forget it -- goosies EVERYWHERE.

What did you do on your first date?

Kacie— “We had just finished up working an overnight shift at work, and we went to the lake (engagement location #3), I had been talking up my "secret spot" for over a week and told him I would take him. We did not anticipate the monsoon that followed us to said spot...but once we got there, it subsided. We talked for hours, watched the sunrise, he kissed me for the first time, and we both knew.”

Favorite thing you like to do together...

Kacie— “We really just like doing anything together. I know that is such a boring answer, but we make everything an adventure- paying rent on Sunday morning and then a grocery run? ADVENTURE. going to Vegas to kayak and off roading? YES PLEASE. Sitting in complete silence together and partaking in some independent play? SIGN ME UP. Literally anything and everything we do, regardless of thrill level we make it fun, and its because we are together. Everything is fun when you are with your best friend.”

Number one physical quality

Kacie— “Refer to previous question about his perfectly formed mouth LOL -- also love his farmers tan, can't lie.”

Aaron— “Her eyes. they get me every time...or her smile…”

Number one character trait

Kacie— “His passion about the things he loves or cares deeply about -- his selflessness and the lengths he will go to help others in need.”

Aaron— “Her heart of gold. plain and simple. Everything that encompasses.

What has been the biggest challenge you've faced as a couple?

We are both hot heads and have difficulty communicating our feelings sometimes. We attended/are attending premarital counseling with a genius who gave us advice and guidance in setting healthy boundaries, communicating calmly, and how to "fight" effectively. The lessons and coping mechanisms he has taught us have been and will continue to be invaluable

How has your fiancé changed you?

We both went through a lot of healing and self work in the years leading up to each other... we both were under the impression that we had reached our "highest" potential and that we had "it all figured out" LAUGHS. The coolest thing about our relationship is we bring those parts of us that we have hidden to the surface. and the craziest part is that it’s like we were both unknowingly trained EXACTLY on how to handle each other's "downfalls" and help the other heal. Long story short, we have grown so much together, more patient, more caring, more open to other ideas, a greater willingness to compromise and communicated. We gave each other something to fight for every single day.

Where do you see yourselves in 10 years?

On 100 acres, with a whole farm -- like any animal...perhaps a zoo of some kind? A garden- let me make all my food! 2 kids, tons of foster/adopted children. open door policy. Homeschooling the babies and killing our careers, wherever they may lead, with our families placed in their own houses spread about the land. There is a big gazebo in the center and we meet there on Sunday afternoons and have dinner while all the kids place. it is paradise.”

proposal story

Kacie— “Okay, SO. we went to Las Vegas with my parents, brother, and his (now) fiancé last December. I had a sneaking suspicion he was going to ask...and was patiently waiting for him to decide on the "right moment." Got up EVERY DAY at UNGODLY hours to make sure I had cute hair, clothes, and makeup...days pass.

SIDE STORY: The ENTIRE trip, I had been begging the group to let me watch a spray paint artist that I follow on TikTok. I had been following him for about a year and couldn't believe that he was setup SO CLOSE to everything we went to. So we passed it day after day...

FASTFORWARD: I barely drink the entire trip...not really our thing. WELL we end up at a Mexican restaurant and I ordered a margarita...they asked me what size and I pointed to Aaron's beer and said "that size." Well...it was WAY too big, but I was like screw it, it's Vegas... With my new confidence, I astutely announced on our way back to the hotel from dinner that we were GOING to stop and watch the spray painter before we did ANY other activity (mom had EVERY single minute planned the whole trip). I stepped right in front and watched him paint - mesmerized. Not paying attention to ANYTHING going on...I am tipsy and finally getting my way. Life is grand. As he is painting I am thinking, "Wow he is painting our whole trip, I think I am going to buy this one as a souvenir,” it was the best one I had ever seen! He gets to the end and starts writing, "...will you mar" he got to that point and I just knew. I shrieked and turned around and in the middle of an ENTIRE audience of people, was Aaron, on one knee. I almost knocked him over. Forgot to answer...and then ran up to a stranger and shouted, "ME! Can you believe it?? ME! I AM MARRYING A REAL HUMAN!” and apparently that is all I could say. hahaha. and that is our story. it was actual magic. oh. and the picture was already mine...go figure <3
