How long was your engagement?

9 months!

Where did you get married?

The Chapel at Mountain Springs. Formerly Mountain Springs Baptist Church, which was my husbands childhood church!

Tell us about the moment you seen each other for the first time on your wedding day (either your first look or when walking down the aisle).

It was magical! I didn’t think I cared about a first look, but so glad we did it. I was so excited for him to see my dress and we both feel it was special to be able to have a couple of minutes of just us talking before walking down the aisle together.

(Bride) Describe your husband on your wedding day.

I loved seeing him so dressed up! We don’t get fancy often. We laughed and giggled all day and it made it so special.

(Groom) Describe your wife on your wedding day.

She was more beautiful than I could’ve imagined!

Were there any rituals, traditions, or sentiments that were part of your wedding? If so, can you tell us about them?

Getting married at his childhood church (turned chapel) was so sweet. The church is actually on our road and it’s so sweet being able to drive by daily and think about our special day!

What were the top 5 moments of your wedding day?

1. Not having a song picked out to walk down the aisle to - we still laugh about having to pick something quickly 10 minutes before the ceremony

2. Our cake disaster the day before the wedding and having to buy a new cake at a local grocery store 2 hours before the wedding! ??

3. Seeing each other for the first time

4. Having only my sister and his brother there. It was so intimate

5. Our dogs getting to join us after the ceremony for pictures! They also got a taste of cake and were very happy!

Were there any moments that made you cry?

Walking down the aisle was more emotional than I thought it would be and definitely made me cry! Most weddings never go quite as planned.

Was there a blooper or “oops” moment at your wedding?

My husband’s pocket on his suit was fake… So his pocket square couldn’t be used! We laughed so hard for not thinking to check that - my sister and the venue owner came and told me as I was getting dressed and it was a good laugh!
