Colson & Sarah | Boulder Colorado Elopement
What stood out to you most about this couple and their love story when you first met them?
I've got to watch Cole and Sarah’s relationship develop from the very beginning & before it ever began I was always hoping that they would end up together! I love how they just naturally fit together and how their love for each other is so evident to anyone who spends time with them!
How did they personalize their elopement day? Were there any unique details or moments that felt especially “them”?
Their day was personalized to them by being surrounded and celebrated with a small group of people who have been their from the beginning. Those who have known and supported them as individuals and now as a couple. They vowed their lives to each other at the base of a mountain and celebrated their marriage in a stunning Airbnb on the side of a mountain.
Was there a specific moment during the day where you felt like, “This is why I love what I do”?
It’s not uncommon for me to get emotional at weddings but it was extra special being able to capture this day for friends that mean a lot to Steven and I. When Cole and Sarah mentioned the possibility of Steven and I flying out to Colorado to capture their day, I jumped at it because what an honor it was to be able to witness their love story in one of the most beautiful destinations.
How did the location or setting influence the feel and flow of the day? If i had to describe the location Sarah and Cole choose it would be - intimate.
They chose a small roadside park that sat below the base of a mountain. Just enough space for a few of their closest friends and family. It was one of those locations where there were no decorations needed because the scenery was enough on it’s own.
How did the couple interact with each other throughout the day? What emotions did you observe?
Cole and Sarahs love to each other has always been evident before they got married and very much so on the day they got married. They for sure are each others hype man!
When you look back at the gallery, is there an image (or series of images) that tells their story best? Why?
When you are in such a stunning part of the country, its hard to choose just one set of photos as a favorite. The day before they got married we spent some time doing their bridal portraits at various locations on the side of the mountain and some of my favorite images were the ones we took as the sun was setting. You can’t see them in the pictures but their were a lot of people all around us enjoying the beautiful sunset. You would never know this because you can only see the two of them in the picture. Their relationship is a lot like those pictures -- all the distractions around them but all you see is the love between them. If I had to choose a second photo it would be the one we took with both families together on either side of Cole and Sarah, cheering them on. To me they weren't just cheering for the marriage that just happened but that they will be on the sidelines, cheering them on in the years to come!
